8th Annual HK Powersports Land and Lake Poker Run Raises Over $75,000 for Easter Seals NH

Lake Winnipesaukee, NH Sunny skies, warm weather and generous participants made for a perfect day for Easter Seals NH, as more than 600 people gathered for a fun-filled beach party at the Naswa Resort on Lake Winnipesaukee on Saturday, July 12th following the 8th Annual HK Powersports Land and Lake Poker Run. This event is the region’s hottest land and lake Poker Run and was dedicated to Peter Makris and in honor of Mike Whalley. Participants traveled to checkpoints by car, motorcycle, boats, personal watercraft and trucks, raising nearly $75,000 for Easter Seals programs and services; showing that even in this economy, people still manage to give from their hearts.

Land and lake participants collected poker chips from checkpoints on, and around Lake Winnipesaukee before heading towards the Naswa Resort to play their poker hand and enjoy the beach party. Congratulations to Fred Caruso the land winner and Bruce Cole the lake winner for the best poker hands. Harley-Davidson of Manchester and Nashua sponsored the cash prizes for each winning hand, one of which was generously donated back to Easter Seals!

Grand prize raffle winners were: 1st prize winner Richard Dalphond of Manchester received a Bombardier Sea Doo GTI Watercraft. 2nd prize winner Valerie Acres of Epsom received a Suzuki King Quad 400 ATV, 3rd place winner Paul Fletcher of Concord received a Bombardier CanAm DS 250 ATV and 4th prize winner Mike Lopes of Braintree, MA received a Suzuki DR-Z70 Dirt Bike. These prizes were courtesy of SeaDoo, BRP and Suzuki.

Sponsored by The Naswa Beach Bar & Resort, Mix 94.1, Metrocast, MTS Associates, Suzuki, Sea Doo and BRP, the proceeds will support the many programs and services that help more than 25,000 children and adults around the state expand their independence and live with dignity and equality.
