Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust, Inc. Grant for $10,000 Benefits Easter Seals New Hampshire Veterans Count Military Families

The Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust, Inc. has made a generous grant of $10,000 to help support Easter Seals New Hampshire Veterans Count, which provides aid and addresses the challenges that New Hampshire Guard and Reserve members and their families face throughout the often-difficult deployment cycle.

“This grant will be used to help bridge the financial gap and provide emergency funds for service members and their families as they deal with the unique challenges of military service,” said Easter Seals NH President and CEO Larry Gammon. “This generous gift allows us to continue providing support to our neighbors throughout the state who have sacrificed so much for our country.”

Through the Easter Seals NH Veterans Count program, launched in 2007 in collaboration with the NH Department of Health and Human Services and the NH National Guard, all service members and their families are paired with an Easter Seals Care Coordinator who helps them to access Veterans Count funding and gifts-in-kind to provide direct emergency financial support that may include food, fuel assistance, utilizes, auto care, home maintenance, transportation, housing, rent, medical bills, child care, and other goods and services that promote self-sufficiency.

Easter Seals Care Coordinators currently manage more than 1,000 individual cases and that number is expected to grow to 2,000 by the end of the year. Since Easter Seals launched the program, more than 1,500 military families have been served.

“The DAV Charitable Service Trust is proud to partner with Easter Seals New Hampshire to address the needs of New Hampshire’s Guard and Reserve members and their families in an era tested by the challenges of war, said Dick Marbes, Chairman of the Trust.” Through our efforts to build better lives for America’s disabled veterans and their families, our country grows stronger.”
