|
Easter Seals is the country's leading provider of services for people with autism. While there is no known cause or cure, nor one single effective treatment, autism is treatable. People with autism, at any age, are capable of making significant progress through personalized intervention and therapy.
Our Services Include:
- Autism Family Services - There are a number of resources available for families of children with autism. Check out these links for more information about resources in the greater Manchester area and the Seacoast area.
- Sensory Integration - Everyday, children learn through their senses. Sensory Intergration therapy assists those who have difficulty tolerating, responding and adapting to sensory information. Occupational therapists help create better body awareness, strengthen posture and coordinate movement.
- Speech & language therapy - Speech therapists address the individualized needs of children having difficulty with communication. Speech therapists assess and treat receptive and expressive language delays/disorders, articulation concerns and oral-motor function. Use of communication alternatives, such as sign language, picture exchange and augmentative devices can be utilized during treatment.
- Physical therapy - Therapists use purposeful activities to help children develop gross motor skills allowing them to participate in everyday movement activities. Therapists assess and treat strength, range of motion, endurance, coordination, posture, balance and gait.
- Occuaptional therapy - We use functional activities to assist children who have difficulty participating in the normal occupations of childhood. Therapists assess and treat sensory processing skills, self-care, oral motor, feeding, visual perceptual and motor, fine motor, gross motor and play skills.
