Assessment Services

Assessment Services at Easter Seals New Hampshire provides a variety of assessments to support diagnosis, educational and vocational planning, social and clinical needs assessments, and specialized risk management planning.  The assessments available through the Assessment Service include:

  • Psychological testing for special education or other academic planning
  • Psychological testing in support of differential diagnosis of psychiatric, cognitive and/or developmental disabilities Personality and projective testing
  • Neuropsychological assessment, with particular expertise in neuropsychological evaluation of children and adolescents
  • Assessment of clinical, educational, vocational or social needs arising from developmental, psychiatric and/or cognitive disabilities
  • Specialized risk assessments and planning for persons with histories of problematic sexual behaviors or sexual offenses
  • Specialized risk assessments and planning for persons with histories of physical aggression, fire setting or other challenging behavior
  • Specialized assessment and planning for persons with histories of chronic and/or severe self-injurious behaviors
  • Forensic evaluations in civil cases (e.g., psychiatric involuntary civil commitment, 171:B civil commitment, CHINS)
  • Forensic evaluations in family cases (e.g., divorce child custody; child abuse/neglect proceedings)
  • Forensic evaluations in juvenile or criminal law proceedings (e.g., Competence to Stand Trial, Criminal Responsibility, Aid in Disposition) 

The Assessment Service brings particular expertise in differential diagnosis, treatment planning, and risk management to complex cases involving children/adolescents or adults. Complex case assessment and planning is available for persons with developmental disabilities, cognitive disabilities, psychiatric disabilities, significant learning disabilities, and/or co-occurring disorders.  Assessment Service staff are familiar in providing assessment services to persons who are involved with state agency services, are court-involved, or have histories of correctional incarceration and/or involuntary psychiatric hospitalization.
